A Few Money Saving Ideas

Here are a few things that I do to make our money go a little further. I'm sure most of you have heard of them, but it seems to help us save a little.

We use propane to heat our house and water. So now I was my clothes in cold water. I hang all our clothes to dry on drying racks and only dry the towels. I use less laundry detergient and I also cut our dryer sheets into thirds. This make them last 3 times longer. For the clothes I hang to dry, I use white vinegar as my fabric softner. I just fill my downy liquid ball with the vinegar and throw it in the washer. The vinegar doesn not leave a smell, but still leaves my clothes soft.

I also add water to my dish liquid. I buy the concentrated and them put half into another bottle and mix it with water. This makes it last twice as long.

I use white vinegar and water to clean with. Vingar is very effective in killing most mold, bacteria and germs. Here is a link to see tips for using vinegar http://www.vinegartips.com/cleaning/.

I rarely buy papertowels, we use cloth napkins or wash clothes for most cleaning and drying.

I try to make sure that all the lights are out when we leave a room. I unplug the things we are not using. I have even started lighting candles for added light and warmth.

I put plastic on all our windows and covered them with a comforter to help keep the cold out.

I use coupons from the Sunday paper or print them from different sites on the web. A few sites I recommend for this : www.afullcup.com, www.smartsource.com, and www.coolsavings.com .

I also try to sign up for as many freebies as I can. I love free things. You can try sites such as www.afullcup.com or http://www.twistedbranches.com/.

This is just a few things that I do to help save my family money. I hope they help you as well.
